Bruce Springsteen<\/a> has revealed that his upcoming tour is \u201cgoing to be political\u201d, and said he is prepared for the \u201cblowback\u201d.<\/p>\n

The legendary artist, who is a vocal critic of<\/a> President Donald Trump<\/a>, is set to embark on his US \u2018Land Of Hope And Dreams\u2019 trek next Tuesday (March 31).<\/p>\n

He\u2019ll be visiting cities such as Portland, LA, San Francisco, Austin, New York and Washington D.C. \u201cin celebration and in defense of America\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur American Constitution and our sacred American dream, all of which are under attack by our wannabe king and his rogue government in Washington DC. Everyone, regardless of where you stand or what you believe in is welcome,\u201d Springsteen explained previously.<\/p>\n

In response, the White House hit back at The Boss by calling him a \u201closer\u201d<\/a>, and saying that \u201che has a severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome that has rotted his brain\u201d.<\/p>\n

During a new interview with the Minnesota Star Tribune\u00a0<\/a>ahead of his first show in Minneapolis, Springsteen promised that \u201cthe tour is going to be political and very topical about what\u2019s going on in the country\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe E Street Band<\/a> is built for hard times. It always was,\u201d he continued. \u201cThese are the moments when I think we can be of real value and real worth to the community. These are moments that fill the band with purpose, so I try to fill the set list around those ideas.\u201d<\/p>\n

When asked if his anti-Trump stance could perhaps alienate some of his fanbase, The Boss responded: \u201cMy job is very simple: I do what I want to do, I say what I want to say and then people get to say what they want to say about it. Those are the rules of my game. That\u2019s fine with me.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t worry about if you\u2019re going to lose this part of your audience. I\u2019ve always had a feeling about the position we play culturally, and I\u2019m still deeply committed to that idea of the band. The blowback is just part of it. I\u2019m ready for all that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sharing a video on social media earlier this week, Springsteen said: \u201cThe E Street Band is coming your way, and we are bringing hope over fear, democracy over authoritarianism, the rule of law over lawlessness, ethics over unbridled corruption, unity over division and peace over war.\u201d<\/p>\n

In January, Springsteen hit out at Trump\u2019s deployment of ICE across the US, calling for ICE to \u201cget the fuck out of Minneapolis\u201d<\/a>\u00a0after the death of Renee Good. Good, 37, was fatally shot by ICE agent Jonathan Ross in Minneapolis on January 7.<\/p>\n

He then\u00a0shared the protest song \u2018Streets Of Minneapolis\u2019<\/a> mourning the deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti, who was also killed by ICE agents in January, aged 37. The Trump administration would slam the song as being \u201cirrelevant\u201d<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Then, Springsteen gave \u2018Streets Of Minneapolis\u2019 its\u00a0live debut during a surprise appearance<\/a>\u00a0at a benefit show hosted by\u00a0Tom Morello<\/a>. The former\u00a0Rage Against The Machine<\/a>\u00a0guitarist organised the gig\u00a0as a show of \u201csolidarity and resistance\u201d<\/a>. It has since been confirmed that Morello will join The Boss at every show on the \u2018Land Of Hope And Dreams\u2019 US tour<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Springsteen also approved the use of his iconic hit \u2018Born In The U.S.A.\u2019 to soundtrack a new anti-ICE video<\/a> last month.<\/p>\n

The Boss has previously called for the POTUS to be impeached<\/a> and \u201cconsigned to the trash heap of history\u201d. He has also\u00a0described Trump as \u201ccorrupt, incompetent and treasonous\u201d<\/a>, and\u00a0endorsed the No Kings movement<\/a> against him last October.<\/p>\n

Trump has also hit back at Springsteen in the past, calling him \u201chighly overrated\u201d<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0a \u201cpushy, obnoxious jerk\u201d<\/a>\u00a0amid criticism.<\/p>\n

In his statement about his new tour, The Boss said: \u201cWe are living through dark, disturbing and dangerous times. But do not despair, the calvary is coming. Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will be taking the stage this spring from Minneapolis to California to Texas to Washington D.C. for the Land Of Hope And Dreams American Tour.<\/p>\n

\u201c[\u2026] So come on out and join the united free republic of E Street nation for an American spring of rock and rebellion. I\u2019ll see you there.\u201d<\/p>\n
