Ahead of the 2026 CUPRA Raval Madrid E-Prix, Spanish driver, Pepe Marti<\/a>, declared that it would \u201cmean the world\u201d to win his home race, but was determined just to \u201cfocus on every session\u201d and not let it get to his head.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Inaugural Madrid E-Prix welcomed His Majesty King Felipe VI of Spain to the sell-out event. King Felipe VI\u2019s presence highlighted the growing importance of sustainable motorsport and Spain\u2019s role in embracing innovative, electric racing technologies.\u00a0<\/p>\n

And even though Marti didn\u2019t manage to claim the win in front of his King – with honours going to Portuguese driver Antonio Felix da Costa<\/a> – the Formula E rookie did lead the race for several laps, much to the excitement of the sell out crowd.\u00a0<\/p>\n

After losing the lead following the PIT BOOST cycle, Marti put on a strong performance for the remainder of the race, crossing the line in 9th and adding two points to his championship tally. His teammate, Dan Ticktum<\/a>, narrowly missed out on the podium, losing third position to Pascal Wehrlein<\/a> on the final lap of the E-Prix.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Six rounds into the 2025\/26 Formula E season, Marti sits 12th in the Drivers\u2019 Championship<\/a> on 19 points, having scored points in four out of six rounds. \u00a0<\/p>\n
