Last week\u2019s, still in theaters, saw Sarah Michelle Gellar stalking someone<\/a>, and the new one has Heather Graham\u2019s eyeball<\/a> running amok. But aside from murderous games of hide-and-seek, we\u2019ve got a new Julio Torres comedy special, the return of BTS and Hannah Montana, and Riz Ahmed in a show where he\u2019s vying to be James Bond \u2014 how can we make that a reality, though?<\/p>\n

Before his Oscar win, when Riz Ahmed was starting out, Idris Elba told him to travel to the U.S. for more opportunities. Now Ahmed is evoking Elba in another way: He\u2019s starring in this comedy series as a struggling actor who gets the chance to try out for James Bond, a role Elba was himself wish-cast in for years by fans. \u2014Roxana Hadadi\u00a0<\/p>\n

Rich people trying to kill those they deem lesser than them? Evergreen. Director Kirill Sokolov\u2019s latest horror stars Zazie Beetz as a woman hired as a maid at the Virgil, a New York high-rise, only to find out that the bougie inhabitants are actually cultists ready to murder her. Industry\u2019s Myha\u2019la is featured as Beetz\u2019s sister, alongside Heather Graham, Tom Felton, and Patricia Arquette.<\/p>\n

Who cares about anything other than the fact that Jessica Jones is back? Thank God.<\/p>\n

Nightmarish marriages are a cornerstone of the horror genre. In this show, that theme gets pegged to the week before one couple\u2019s wedding: At what point in a relationship does it become clear that vowing to stay together forever is a terrible idea? Camila Morrone and Adam DiMarco star as the bride and groom, and Stranger Things\u2019s Duffer brothers, who have since announced their departure from Netflix for Paramount, are co-producers. \u2014Roxana Hadadi\u00a0<\/p>\n

The late Rob Reiner<\/a>\u2019s 1986 coming-of-age drama, based on a Stephen King novella about a group of young boys on a quest to see a dead body, became an instant generational touchstone on debut, and it holds up. It\u2019s back in theaters for one week to celebrate its 40th anniversary. \u2014Bilge Ebiri\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen director Bao Nguyen<\/a> set out to document BTS\u2019s long-awaited comeback<\/a> as a group, he had Greek mythology on his mind. Nguyen told press in Seoul that when he saw Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook speaking to the crowd at one of their last U.S. concerts before their mandatory military service, BTS reminded him of Odysseus, while their Army wives<\/a> fans were like the Homeric hero\u2019s waiting wife, Penelope. But the documentary ended up telling more than just a story of yearning for a return.\u201d \u2014Jennifer Zhan, reporting from Seoul on BTS\u2019s return<\/a><\/p>\n

Hold your horses! Steel Ball Run, based on the seventh part of Hirohiko Araki\u2019s ultra-glam shonen JoJo\u2019s Bizarre Adventure, takes place in a different time, in a different place, and with a completely different JoJo. So you don\u2019t really need to have seen one of Megan Thee Stallion\u2019s favorite anime to root for Johnny Joestar, a paralyzed former jockey, as he joins a cross-country horse race to chase down a mysterious rider he believes could change his fate. Or, at least, I haven\u2019t, and I still had a good time. \u2014Zo\u00eb Haylock<\/p>\n

Filmmaker Joachim Trier\u2019s intimate family drama managed to win the Oscar for Best International Feature this month. A portrait of two daughters and their estranged father looking to make a film based on their family, Sentimental Value has riveting performances from Stellan \u201cI Consider Myself a Nepo Daddy\u201d<\/a> Skarsg\u00e5rd, Renate Reinsve, Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas, and Elle Fanning.<\/p>\n

\u27bd Plus Sam Raimi\u2019s Send Help and the Oscar-nominated Sir\u0101t are out on VOD. And we\u2019ve got a terrifying animal double feature on streaming: Anaconda on Netflix and Primate on Paramount+.<\/p>\n
