Apple will unveil iOS 27 and its companion software updates on June 8 at WWDC<\/a>, and a recent Q&A with Bloomberg\u2019s Mark Gurman revealed<\/a> the two main upgrades coming with watchOS 27.<\/p>\n

Apple focused on AI features and quality improvements in watchOS 27<\/p>\n

Last week Mark Gurman hosted a Q&A where he answered a variety of Apple-related questions. The full transcript is available here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

One question had to do with Apple\u2019s hardware and software plans for the Apple Watch this year.<\/p>\n

Gurman didn\u2019t have much to offer related to hardware, other than saying he\u2019s \u201cnot expecting any major redesigns this year.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, when it comes to watchOS 27 there were two tentpole changes highlighted.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s what Gurman said:<\/p>\n

I think this year it\u2019s just about implementing more AI features into the watch from a software standpoint\u2026In terms of WWDC, what\u2019s in addition to AI features? Not much, really. I mean, it\u2019s about getting the software in good shape and telling their AI story.<\/p>\n

So watchOS 27\u2019s main improvements will come in the form of:<\/p>\n

AI features<\/p>\n

Bug fixes and performance improvements<\/p>\n

Based on this response, it sounds like watchOS 27 will very much mirror iOS 27 with its upgrades.<\/p>\n

Gurman has been reporting for a while that Apple is prioritizing AI advancements and performance for its next big iPhone software version too. That\u2019s expected to focus a lot on the new and improved Siri, as detailed last week<\/a>.<\/p>\n
