Located in North Richland Hills, the 836-square-metre building was created for dermatologist Northstar Dermatology and is intended as a contemporary take on healthcare architecture.<\/p>\n

The building’s defining feature is its facades, which are enveloped in thin, glazed bricks from Acme Brick<\/a>‘s Fusion range, placed at unexpected angles.<\/p>\n

The specific product used by An.onymous<\/a> is the modular Panama City Glossy brick, which has a pearlescent quality that changes with the movements of the sun.<\/p>\n

To enhance their iridescent, ever-changing look, the bricks are mounted to the elevations at various angles and with a mix of stacked and running bonds.<\/p>\n

Acme Brick said it is a “visual playground” that “challenges traditional notions of brick construction”.<\/p>\n

An.onymous described the facades as “oblique drawings of the buildings themselves”.<\/p>\n

“The thin brick system, used with varied stacked and running bond patterns in horizontal and diagonal arrangements, conforms to the drawn projections on the facades, while exposing the symbolic quality of the material as a non-brick \u2013 a tiling system that only signifies brick,” said the studio.<\/p>\n

The facades also nod to the building’s asymmetrical floor plan, which was developed from a computer-generated study on circulation.<\/p>\n
