Amazon Prime Video\u2019s upcoming\u00a0Lara Croft: Tomb Raider<\/a>\u00a0series has halted production after its star, Sophie Turner, was injured; it\u2019s unclear whether the injury occurred on or off set. \u201cSophie Turner recently experienced a minor injury,\u201d Amazon Prime Video shared in a statement with Vulture. \u201cAs a precaution, production has briefly paused to allow her time to recover. We look forward to resuming production as soon as possible.\u201d There is currently no timeline for production to resume, but Deadline<\/a> alleges the break is for two weeks and the crew is paid.<\/p>\n

Created by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, the upcoming series stars Turner, Martin Bobb-Semple, Jason Isaacs, Bill Paterson, Sigourney Weaver, and more. Based on the video game series, Tomb Raider follows archaeologist Lara Croft as she searches for forgotten artifacts. \u201cI\u2019ve been a long-time fan of\u00a0Tomb Raider\u00a0and the character of Lara,\u201d Turner said at the time of her casting in September. \u201cThey\u2019re massive shoes to fill, following in the steps of Angelina and Alicia with their powerhouse performances, but with Phoebe at the helm, we (and Lara) are all in very safe hands.\u201d<\/p>\n
