Lizzo<\/a> thinks it\u2019s about damn time she opens up about her sex life.<\/p>\n

The \u201cCuz I Love You\u201d singer revealed she didn\u2019t lose her virginity until 2020, when she was in her 30s, due to a pact she\u2019d made when she was younger not to do the deed until she\u2019d won a Grammy<\/a>. After earning her first award from the Recording Academy in 2020, she made good on her promise.<\/p>\n

“I was a late bloomer,\u201d Lizzo, 37, said on the March 31 episode of the Friends Keep Secrets<\/a> podcast. \u201cI lied about it for a long time.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI just promised myself when I was younger that I wouldn’t have sex until I won a Grammy,\u201d she added. \u201cI\u2019m so dead ass.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Lizzo (born Melissa Viviane Jefferson) clarified that “it was not the night of Grammys\u201d that she lost her v-card, she did share that it was within the same year that she nabbed her Grammys for Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Traditional R&B Performance, and Best Urban Contemporary Album at the 2020 event.<\/p>\n

Though the \u201cAbout Damn Time\u201d hitmaker is known for advocating for sexual expression<\/a>, she revealed that she felt shame about having sex later in life, noting how good it felt to get the \u201cweight\u201d off her chest now.<\/p>\n

\u201cI used to lie,\u201d she said, later adding, “It was so embarrassing. I was in a friend group of girls. We were all girling one night and it was like, ‘Wait, Lizzo are you a virgin?'”<\/p>\n

“I said, ‘I love the D.’ I said that,” she explained. “And it held me over for a little while.”<\/p>\n

She also shared how her religious beliefs enabled her to wait before exploring that side of herself.<\/p>\n

“When we were teenagers at my church,\u201d she explained, “we all made a pact that we wouldn’t do anything before marriage. And then, I was just so scared. Like, nobody wanted to kiss me.\u201d<\/p>\n

And losing her virginity wasn\u2019t the only milestone Lizzo reached later in life: she also revealed she didn\u2019t have her first kiss until she was 21.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was terrible,\u201d she said of the experience. \u201cI was actually very upset about it because it was a New Year’s Eve thing and he forced it on me. I was really mad and I was like, ‘My first kiss is ruined.’ I was so mad.\u201d<\/p>\n

While she didn\u2019t divulge who her firsts were with, Lizzo noted how her boyfriend Myke Wright<\/a>\u2014who has been dating the artist since 2022\u2014has made up for her past unpleasant interactions.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t like tonguing or swapping of spit,\u201d Lizzo admitted. \u201cThe only person I like it with is my man. I can\u2019t stand it with anyone else.\u201d<\/p>\n
