WASHINGTON (TNND) \u2014 Florida GOP Rep. Randy Fine said that an alleged Iranian state actor targeted him in a phishing scheme that was disguised as an interview for television.<\/p>\n

“A skilled impersonator created something appearing just like Newsmax to attempt to do an interview with me,” Fine said during an interview with Fox News Digital.<\/a><\/p>\n

Fine said his staffer interacted with the message and then noticed that the messages didn\u2019t work.<\/p>\n

Fine said that the purpose of the scheme was to gain access to his personal Google account.<\/p>\n

He said he didn\u2019t think the timing was a coincidence and this alleged attack started \u201cliterally the day after combat operations began.\u201d<\/p>\n

In February, the U.S. and Israel conducted joint drone strikes<\/a> on Iran due to concerns that the country had missiles.<\/p>\n

Iran retaliated, resulting in other countries being hit. Some U.S. soldiers have been killed and many have been injured.<\/p>\n

It has been reported that boots on the ground<\/a> may take place in Iran. President Donald Trump is expected to address the nation at 9 p.m. EST on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Trump claimed that the new president of Iran asked the U.S. for a ceasefire.<\/p>\n
