{"id":370592,"date":"2026-04-02T04:25:12","date_gmt":"2026-04-02T04:25:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/370592\/"},"modified":"2026-04-02T04:25:12","modified_gmt":"2026-04-02T04:25:12","slug":"nba-europe-attracts-us1-billion-bids-with-more-than-120-investors-showing-keen-interest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/370592\/","title":{"rendered":"NBA Europe attracts US$1 billion bids, with more than 120 investors showing keen interest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">The National Basketball Association (NBA) has received offers of more than US$1 billion for the right to play in its planned European competition, NBA Europe.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">Sources close to the process said there had been several offers in the range of US$500 million to US$1 billion, with some exceeding US$1 billion.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">They come from around 120 investors, including existing teams and those currently playing in the privately organised EuroLeague.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">The NBA Europe, set up by the NBA and world governing body Fiba, is to tip off in 2027 with 16 teams, 12 of which are to be permanent franchises, with four more qualifying via results.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">It was not clear for which locations the offers were but the NBA wants to be present in famous European cities such as London, Paris or Rome.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"NBA\u2019s Mark Tatum says the league has \u201creceived significant interest\u201d.
