The project sees Das reunited with Kavi Shastri, with whom he co-directed his directorial debut, Aamir Khan Productions\u2019 \u201cHappy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos.\u201d Das will also feature in the film\u2019s ensemble cast. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tPrincipal photography is due to commence in June at Mumbai locations. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cPositioned as a found footage horror narrative, the project aims to move beyond conventional tropes, blending psychological depth with atmospheric storytelling,\u201d per a note from Zazu Productions. \u201cThe film has been in development for some time and is expected to offer a nuanced take on fear, exploring both external tension and internal human emotions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cVir Das further expands his creative repertoire, transitioning from comedy to horror while maintaining a strong focus on narrative innovation,\u201d the note added. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tSet in a heightened comic universe, \u201cHappy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos\u201d follows a well-meaning but bumbling operative whose attempts at heroism create more mayhem than order. The film, which debuted on Netflix April 1, deploys a deliberately eccentric tone, mixing slapstick, satire and spy-thriller tropes with Das\u2019 irreverent comedic sensibility.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tDas, one of India\u2019s most renowned comedians, took home the 2023 International Emmy Award for best comedy for his Netflix special \u201cVir Das: Landing.\u201d He is currently in the middle of his his \u201cHey Stranger\u201d 2026 tour. The 21-city tour kicked off on Feb. 27 at The Chicago Theatre in Chicago, IL with stops across the U.S. in San Francisco, Washington, Grand Rapids and more and in London\u2019s Royal Albert Hall on April 1, before concluding in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on May 23.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"International Emmy-winning Indian comedian Vir Das has set his next directorial venture.
