Reddit is deprecating r\/all, one of its feeds that shows popular posts on the platform, as part of \u201congoing efforts to simplify Reddit and improve Home feed personalization.\u201d<\/p>\n
Reddit has offered both r\/popular and r\/all<\/a> as ways to see trending posts, with r\/all being a \u201cless filtered feed\u201d where \u201csexually explicit posts are filtered out but other popular Not Safe for Work (NSFW) posts are included.\u201d But in January, Reddit said<\/a> it had removed r\/all from its apps as part of an \u201cexperiment\u201d and that, as part of a separate experiment, some desktop users wouldn\u2019t see r\/all in their sidebar. (The company earlier announced r\/all\u2019s removal from its apps in December<\/a>, but didn\u2019t qualify the change as an experiment at the time.) In February, Reddit said that the experiment had concluded<\/a> and \u201cthe decision was made to remove r\/all.\u201d<\/p>\n In update notes published Thursday<\/a>, Reddit said that the \u201cthe final steps to deprecate r\/all are being implemented,\u201d and links to r\/all now redirect to your Home feed. r\/all also doesn\u2019t show up on the Reddit sidebar on the web or in the Reddit iOS app for me.<\/p>\n r\/all isn\u2019t totally going away, though; if you use old Reddit<\/a>, you can still access the feed. And although Reddit CEO Steve Huffman said last year<\/a> that the company was \u201cmoving away from\u201d r\/popular in favor of more personalized feeds, Reddit stated Thursday that \u201ctrending content remains available via r\/popular.\u201d r\/popular may still change, though: \u201cas previously shared, we are rethinking parts of the global feed experience, especially for new users, and that may include changes to r\/popular over time,\u201d spokesperson Clarissa Colmenero tells The Verge.<\/p>\n Reddit also announced Thursday that it would be launching new default privacy settings for teens.
