Mel B<\/a> has put long swirling rumours of a Spice Girls<\/a> reunion tour to rest in a new interview.<\/p>\n

The singer, also known as Scary Spice, nodded to the group\u2019s upcoming 30th anniversary in a discussion with\u00a0Hello<\/a>!, and dashed hopes of a comeback tour. With the milestone imminent, fans have been clambering to see them come back together in some capacity, either for a global trek or a documentary.<\/p>\n

She was insistent that a full tour would not be happening, but did address rumours that the group were set to be the subject of a Netflix documentary, similar to the recently released Take That mini-series<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can tell you it\u2019s not happening,\u201d she said of a reunion tour. \u201cIf it does, it\u2019ll be a shock to me, let\u2019s put it that way,\u201d and went on to explain: \u201cYou can\u2019t be nagging everyone to go on tour if they don\u2019t want to. I laid that to rest when I turned 50.\u201d<\/p>\n

She also said that despite all five members \u201cthinking about\u201d coming together for a documentary charting their rise in the \u201990s, it doesn\u2019t appear to be on the cards either.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think we\u2019ve all been asked and were all thinking about it at some point,\u201d she said. \u201cBut it has to be done in the right way, and it has to be honest \u2013 and not everybody wants to be honest.\u201d<\/p>\n

It seems at odds with what she told Page Six<\/a> last month, when she addressed the ongoing rumours of a reunion and said she wished they were \u201calready on tour\u201d at this point.<\/p>\n

She has been outspoken about her eagerness to return in the past, and said in May last year that\u00a0she was \u201calways game\u201d when it came to hitting the road<\/a>\u00a0with\u00a0Victoria Beckham<\/a>,\u00a0Mel C<\/a>,\u00a0Geri Halliwell-Horner<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Emma Bunton<\/a>\u00a0again.<\/p>\n

Doubling down on her stance in the latest interview, the singer said that she would love to share the news of a comeback, but revealed that it is unlikely to come anytime soon.<\/p>\n

The comments build on what Mel C \u2013 Sporty Spice \u2013 said last week, when she shared that there will be no Spice Girls 30th reunion tour this year, despite the group \u201cwant[ing] to do something\u201d<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to do something. Who knows when, but I still feel very optimistic, and I keep my fingers crossed that you will see the Spice Girls together at some point in the future,\u201d she said on Australian radio show\u00a0The Smallzy Show.<\/p>\n

The last time all five members performed together publicly was at the\u00a0London Olympics closing ceremony in 2012,<\/a>\u00a0while the group also\u00a0gave a surprise performance of \u2018Stop\u2019 at Posh\u2019s 50th birthday party<\/a>\u00a0in 2024.<\/p>\n

The group have previously embarked on a\u00a0reunion tour in 2019<\/a> \u2013 however, that line-up did not include Beckham.<\/p>\n

There have been numerous instances of the group building up hopes of a reunion, as well as many times where they have put a dampener on the prospect.<\/p>\n

Last year, for example, Mel C said\u00a0she was \u201coptimistic\u201d that the iconic girl group would reunite<\/a>\u00a0while promoting her ninth studio album \u2018Sweat<\/a>\u2018, and Victoria Beckham also\u00a0suggested her \u201ctempting\u201d desire to do a Spice Girls stadium tour<\/a>\u00a0after attending\u00a0Oasis\u2019 mighty comeback tour<\/a>\u00a0with husband David.<\/p>\n

Last spring,\u00a0Halliwell-Horner also teased that \u201cthere will be something\u201d with Beckham in the fold in the future<\/a>. \u201cMy hope is we come back together as a collective. It\u2019s more respectful to come as one,\u201d she said, also revealing that all five members shared a group chat.<\/p>\n
