In a new interview with The Guardian<\/a>, the \u201cMidnight Sun\u201d pop star, 28, spoke about losing a $3M brand deal after joking with a fan on social media about getting an abortion after one of Larsson\u2019s shows.<\/p>\n Earlier this month, a fan posted a TikTok video<\/a> of Larsson performing on stage and wrote, \u201cI didn\u2019t know I was pregnant here but at least my baby got to hear midnight sun before I aborted it.\u201d<\/p>\n Zara Larsson on ‘Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2026′ At the time, Larsson wrote in the comments, \u201cI killed the performance and then you killed it after the performance purrrrrr.\u201d<\/p>\n Reflecting on the moment, the Swedish artist told The Guardian, \u201cI lost $3M, which is the biggest brand deal I\u2019d been offered in my life.\u201d<\/p>\n However, Larsson didn\u2019t care about losing the paycheck: \u201cI was genuinely like: Okay, losers!\u201d<\/p>\n While the \u201cLush Life\u201d performer opted not to name the brand that dropped her, she may reveal it in the future. \u201cI feel like there\u2019s going to be a moment for that later,\u201d she told the outlet.<\/p>\n Larsson previously responded to the moment in her own TikTok video<\/a> on March 5 and stood by the joke. \u201cSorry, that’s funny,\u201d she said. \u201cLike, I don’t know what to say. That’s funny. Sorry if you don’t have humor.\u201d<\/p>\n She explained, \u201cI\u2019m not really here to argue with the people who are very against abortions for whatever reason because we\u2019re so fundamentally different in the way we view the world, at least on this topic.\u201d<\/p>\n Larsson also addressed anyone who feels the topic of abortion is too serious to make jokes about. \u201cI just want to know why that is,\u201d she said. \u201cWhy do you feel like abortion is only okay when it\u2019s a very hard decision, when it\u2019s something that women have to struggle with going through, when it\u2019s emotionally or physically painful. Why does that make it morally superior than someone just wanting an abortion for whatever reason? Why is it only morally okay when women have to suffer?\u201d<\/p>\n The Grammy-nominated artist noted that she does think it\u2019s positive to \u201cprevent\u201d abortion by offering other options, like sexual education and birth control.<\/p>\n She added, \u201cI feel like joking about stuff like that, a ‘serious topic,’ it also makes it something that we can just talk about. It doesn’t have to be taboo.
