War is coming to Pandora \u2014 again. <\/p>\n

On Thursday, 20th Century Studios released a new trailer for \u201cAvatar: Fire and Ash<\/a>\u201d offering more glimpses of the gorgeous world of James Cameron\u2019s<\/a> upcoming sci-fi epic as well as teasing to some of its story. <\/p>\n

\u201cThis is the only pure thing in this world,\u201d Varang (Oona Chaplin), the leader of the fiery Mangkwan Clan, says in the trailer as she waves her hands over crackling flames. \u201cThe fire came from the mountain. Burnt our forest. My people cried for help but Eywa did not come.\u201d <\/p>\n

The film\u2019s new clan of Na\u2019vi, also called the Ash People, are among the adversaries that Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and family are set to face in the third \u201cAvatar\u201d installment<\/a>. Earlier this year Cameron explained in an interview with Empire<\/a> that Varang has been hardened by the hardships her people have faced and \u201cwill do anything for them, even things that we would consider to be evil.\u201d<\/p>\n

The latest \u201cFire and Ash\u201d trailer shows Varang aligning herself with Quaritch (Stephen Lang), capturing Spider (Jack Champion) and leading an attack against other Na\u2019vi clans, including the nomadic Wind Traders who travel aboard airborne vessels drawn by large jellyfish-like creatures. <\/p>\n

While Varang and her clan are clearly positioned as among the enemies in \u201cFire and Ash,\u201d it\u2019s not as simple as them being \u201cevil.\u201d Chaplin told Empire<\/a> in July that Ash Clan members \u201chave a bunch of unresolved trauma\u201d because of the disaster they faced.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s easy to fall into the villain mentality, but actually she\u2019s the hero of her people,\u201d Chaplin said. \u201cBecause she\u2019s saved them out of misery and starvation and begging.\u201d <\/p>\n

Among the characters set to return in the film are also Neytiri (Zoe Saldana), Kiri (Sigourney Weaver), Lo\u2019ak (Britain Dalton), Tuktirey (Trinity Jo-Li Bliss), Tonowari (Cliff Curtis) and Ronal (Kate Winslet). <\/p>\n
