{"id":377093,"date":"2026-04-06T01:10:09","date_gmt":"2026-04-06T01:10:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/377093\/"},"modified":"2026-04-06T01:10:09","modified_gmt":"2026-04-06T01:10:09","slug":"search-presses-into-night-for-4-feared-buried-under-haifa-building-struck-by-missile","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/377093\/","title":{"rendered":"Search presses into night for 4 feared buried under Haifa building struck by missile"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.timesofisrael.com\/liveblog_entry\/us-appeals-court-reinstates-ruling-allowing-american-terror-victims-to-sue-pa-plo\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">US appeals court reinstates ruling allowing American terror victims to sue PA, PLO<\/a><\/p>\n<p>NEW YORK (AP) \u2014 A $656 million judgment against Palestinian authorities has been reinstated by appeals judges, following a US Supreme Court ruling in favor of Americans killed or wounded in attacks in Israel.<\/p>\n<p>The decision from the 2nd US Circuit Court of Appeals comes a decade after it first tossed out a verdict against the Palestine Liberation Organization and the Palestinian Authority on the grounds that US courts couldn\u2019t consider lawsuits against foreign groups over overseas attacks that were not aimed at the United States.<\/p>\n<p>But the appeals court reinstated the judgment in light of a Supreme Court ruling last June upholding a 2019 law enacted by Congress to allow the victims\u2019 lawsuits to go forward against the Palestine Liberation Organization and the Palestinian Authority.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe conclude that the original judgment for the plaintiffs should be reinstated. That conclusion is consistent with the plain import of the Supreme Court\u2019s decision,\u201d the judges say in a decision dated March 30.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur client families are very relieved that the court has reinstated the judgment without requiring a new trial.
