Charli XCX<\/a>\u2018s management is speaking out after viral comments and claims from Sky Ferreira<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The 33-year-old singer commented on social media <\/a>about her old songs being recorded by Charli for the Wuthering Heights soundtrack. <\/p>\n

Now, Charli\u2018s team is responding, noting she\u2019s currently filming a movie in Kyoto and finishing up her next album. <\/p>\n

\u201cCharli has made seven albums, four mixtapes and one EP, and has written countless songs for other artists throughout her career. She began as a songwriter with \u2018I Love It,\u2019 and her work has been recorded by and pitched to multiple artists,\u201d her team shared in a statement with Billboard<\/a>. \u201cShe has her own personal history with publishing and production negotiations and because of this, she always shares credits fairly and appropriately, and values her collaborators tremendously.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAhead of the Wuthering Heights album release, a standard review process was conducted on a small number of tracks from the album, including fragments of material originating from earlier sessions. This process involved managers, legal representatives, artists and producers, and included a thorough review of archival materials and demo recordings.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAll relevant parties were consulted throughout, and the album was played in full in advance of release to everyone. Songwriting credits and splits were determined and agreed collectively in writing, with reference to documented timelines and contributions,\u201d they continued. \u201cAll credits were finalized and formally approved by the appropriate parties prior to the album\u2019s release.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sky is listed as a featured artist, co-writer and vocal producer on the track \u201cEyes of the World\u201d on the Wuthering Heights soundtrack.<\/p>\n
