We\u2019re not due for any new Google Pixel phones in the near future, but a surprise teaser has just dropped with the reveal that an exclusive new model is hitting the market this week, and we might already have some idea of what that is.<\/p>\n

On a Twitter\/X account used to provide updates on Google products in Japan, the company teases<\/a> that a \u201cJapan-exclusive\u201d Google Pixel device is set to launch tomorrow, April 7. The teaser hints (translated) that the new model brings \u201can artistic special specification.\u201d<\/p>\n

An accompanying image shows the April 7 date and, in Japanese, says that this is a \u201cJapan-limited model.\u201d<\/p>\n

Behind that is a dark blue, darker than the Pixel 10\u2019s Indigo color<\/a>. And that tells us what this likely is.<\/p>\n

Developer @evowizz on Twitter\/X recently shared<\/a> that Google has been preparing a \u201cdark blue\u201d variant of the Pixel 10a, which lines up with Google\u2019s own teaser. There hasn\u2019t been much chatter besides that one post, though, so it\u2019s hard to say for certain whether or not this will actually come to pass.<\/p>\n

That said, it makes a lot of sense.<\/p>\n

Google Pixel as a brand has had some success in the Japanese market, especially on the back of the A-Series models. The Pixel 7a in particular was a smash hit in the country<\/a>, so creating a limited-edition color variant in the country makes some level of sense for the sake of grabbing a few extra eyes in the region.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, Pixel 10a remains available for $499 (or local pricing) in its Berry, Lavender, Obsidian, and Fog colors. <\/p>\n
