\n\tAngel Studios on Monday released a trailer for Andy Serkis<\/a>\u2018 animated pic Animal Farm<\/a>, the adaptation of George Orwell\u2019s iconic political allegory satire. The studio is releasing it in theaters May 1.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe voice cast for the film, which had its world premiere last June at the Annecy Animation Film Festival, is led by Seth Rogen<\/a>, Gaten Matarazzo<\/a>, Steve Buscemi, Glenn Close, Laverne Cox, Kieran Culkin, Woody Harrelson, Jim Parsons, Kathleen Turner, Iman Vellani and Serkis.<\/p>\n

\n\tSerkis has created a fresh take on the book, which Orwell wrote in the mid-1940s as Stalinism had taken firm hold in post-revolution Soviet Union. The book told the tale of a group of farm animals who rebel against their owner with a plan to create a utopian, free and happy life for themselves. But one group \u2014 the pigs \u2014 end up taking over and the society becomes as shackled as it was before.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe subtitle of Serkis\u2019 film, which was adapted by Nicholas Stoller: A Cautionary Tail.<\/p>\n
