EastEnders has confirmed Josh Goodwin’s life-changing decision surrounding the trial of his twin sister Jasmine Fisher. <\/p>\n

Josh and Jasmine recently joined the soap after being introduced as the long-lost children of Zoe Slater and Anthony Trueman. <\/p>\n

Viewers know that Jasmine is currently on trial for Anthony\u2019s murder<\/a>, though video footage was recently uncovered that suggested that Anthony attacked her and she acted in self-defence. <\/p>\n

In tonight’s episode (6 April), fearing Patrick\u2019s statement could put Jasmine at risk, Richie urged Kat to give a character statement in court. <\/p>\n

After Kat refused, Zoe pushed her to reconsider, fearing that Josh would leave Walford if Jasmine was found guilty. <\/p>\n

“She was protecting me when I should have been protecting her,” said Zoe. “What if Josh won’t stick around without her? You have got to get up in court. I cannot risk losing both of them again.”<\/p>\n

Torn between Patrick and Jasmine, Josh decided to visit his sister to get the truth – coming face-to-face with her for the first time since he was eight. <\/p>\n

“Eight years. You were all I had. We went everywhere together. We’d lay in bed making up stories,” Josh told his sister. <\/p>\n

After confronting their past, Josh asked Jasmine why she killed Anthony. Jasmine responded: “It all just happened so fast. Zoe was just lying there. Zoe. Our mum was just lying there, and he was just kneeling by her.”<\/p>\n

She continued: “I don’t even remember what happened. I don’t. I just remember wanting him to stop.”<\/p>\n

Jasmine then apologised for taking away Josh’s chance to meet his dad, telling her brother to look her in the eyes so he could tell she was telling the truth. <\/p>\n

Josh returned to Walford determined to support Jasmine in court, telling Kat and Zoe he believed she was just protecting Zoe. <\/p>\n

Zoe said: “She’s got her whole family in her corner. We’re going to do this. We’re going to get her back home.”<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Kat worried as the pressure to defend Jasmine threatened her already-fragile bond with Zoe. <\/p>\n

EastEnders airs on Mondays-Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast. <\/p>\n
