It\u2019s official: U.S. Olympic champion Noah Lyles<\/a> and Jamaican bronze medallist Junelle Bromfield<\/a> are married!<\/p>\n

Athletics<\/a>\u2019 high-profile lovebirds tied the knot during a stylish ceremony in Trenton, Georgia, on Saturday (4 April), authoring a joyous end to a relationship that began when Junelle sent Lyles a spontaneous DM in 2018.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt led to a very long seven-year story of us eventually meeting, falling in love, being able to be with each other, not being able to be with each other, and then finally getting into a relationship where we have always stayed together\u2014and now have gotten married,\u201d Lyles\u00a0told Vogue<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Themed \u201cAll Shades of Melanin\u201d, the couple\u2019s wedding celebrated not only the joining of two individuals in marriage, but the joining of the two cultures and families. The bridesmaids and groomsmen wore varying shades of brown, while Lyles sported a deep brown suit.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was definitely a ceremony of unity,\u201d Junelle added. \u201cIt was just amazing to see the different cultures mesh into one. Everybody was having fun, interacting, and filled with love.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dressed in a stunning white gown designed by a Jamaican fashion house\u00a0Pantora Bridal, the women\u2019s 4x400m bronze medallist from the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020<\/a> wasted little time walking down the aisle: \u201cI heard I didn\u2019t walk down the aisle. I heard that I ran.\u201d<\/p>\n

Her excitement was matched by the men\u2019s 100m champion at the\u00a0Olympic Games Paris 2024<\/a>, who found himself overcome with emotion as the happy couple exchanged wedding vows.<\/p>\n

\u201cI already knew I was\u00a0going to\u00a0cry, I just didn\u2019t know when,\u201d he began. \u201cBut when Janelle read the title of her vows, I was like, \u2018Oh, yep, this is the part. This is when I cry\u2019.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cHer hands shook so much that she couldn\u2019t hold the vow book, so I ended up holding it for her. But I was also crying, so I couldn\u2019t wipe away my own tears. It was a super magical moment.\u201d<\/p>\n

The ceremony was capped off by a reception that featured a speech from\u00a0Lyles, a performance from gospel singer Tasha Cobbs Leonard, a handful of choreographed dance routines and a perfectly-timed firework show that concluded just before it began to rain.<\/p>\n
