What it hadn\u2019t done previously was lead the overall rankings on Nielsen\u2019s streaming charts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tEmphasis on \u201chadn\u2019t\u201d: In the final week of August, the movie took over the No. 1 overall spot with its highest weekly viewing total to date in the United States, 1.12 billion minutes. It marked the movie\u2019s 11th straight appearance in the Nielsen rankings, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-news\/streaming-ratings-aug-18-24-2025-1236375331\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">extending a record<\/a> for a streaming original film that it set a week earlier.   <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tAnother movie, The Thursday Murder Club, came in second overall for Aug. 25-31 with 1.03 billion viewing minutes. That narrowly beat Netflix\u2019s YA series <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/my-life-with-the-walter-boys\/\" id=\"auto-tag_my-life-with-the-walter-boys_1\" data-tag=\"my-life-with-the-walter-boys\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">My Life With the Walter Boys<\/a>, which recorded 987 million minutes of viewing for the week of its season two premiere. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/wednesday\/\" id=\"auto-tag_wednesday_1\" data-tag=\"wednesday\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Wednesday<\/a> ceded the No. 1 overall spot it had held for the previous three weeks, dropping to fifth place with 870 million minutes. It will likely move back up in the next set of rankings as Netflix released the second half of the season on Sept. 3. Netflix also had the No. 4 title with docuseries Katrina: Come Hell or High Water (911 million minutes).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe Summer I Turned Pretty hit another high for Prime Video with 717 million minutes of watch time as it entered the home stretch of its third season. Marvel\u2019s movie Thunderbolts (702 million minutes) also cracked the overall top 10 the week of its streaming premiere on Disney+.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tNielsen\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/streaming-ratings\/\" id=\"auto-tag_streaming-ratings_1\" data-tag=\"streaming-ratings\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">streaming ratings<\/a> cover viewing on TV sets only and don\u2019t include minutes watched on computers or mobile devices. The ratings only measure U.S. audiences, not those in other countries.
