\n\tEXCLUSIVE: Fox<\/a> is going 2-for-2 with its freshman drama series. The network has renewed Memory of a Killer<\/a> for a second season. The news comes as Season 1 of the thriller starring Patrick Dempsey<\/a> and Michael Imperioli<\/a> comes to a close with its finale tonight, April 6. It follows the recent Season 2 pickup of Fox\u2019s other freshman drama, Best Medicine,<\/a> headlined by Josh Charles.<\/p>\n

\n\tAaron Zelman and Glenn Kessler will continue as showrunners of Memory Of a Killer, inspired by the book and the 2003 Belgian film\u00a0De Zaak Alzheimer. They joined halfway through production of the series\u2019 10-episode first season, replacing original co-showrunners, developers Ed Whitmore & Tracey Malone and David Schulner.<\/p>\n

\n\tMemory of a Killer, from Warner Bros Television and Fox Entertainment, had a big launch behind the NFC Championship Game in January. The premiere has delivered 16.2 million total viewers across platforms and encores (linear L+35; non-linear through April 4). Memory of a Killer also became Fox\u2019s most streamed drama debut in six years (1.9M P2+), since 9-1-1: Lone Star, which premiered on January 19, 2020.<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile the series\u2019 linear ratings have tapered off, something pretty common for serialized broadcast dramas, Memory of a Killer has become a staple on Hulu, which releases new episodes next day, regularly raking in the streamer\u2019s Daily Top 10. Memory of a Killer\u2018s strong digital performance \u2014 the show commands Fox\u2019s largest streaming audience season-to-date (1.4M P2+ across seven-day viewing) \u2014 helped secure its renewal.<\/p>\n

\n\tMemory of a Killer stars Dempsey as Angelo Flannery\/Doyle, who leads a dangerous double life while hiding an even deadlier personal secret: he is slowing losing his memory. To further complicate things, he discovers that his wife\u2019s recent death may not have been an accident. When someone comes after his pregnant daughter Maria (Odeya Rush), it\u2019s clear the wall between his lives has been breached. Angelo must stop whoever\u2019s coming for his family by searching his past hits for clues, and the list is very long.<\/p>\n

\n\tImperioli plays Dutch Forlanni, an accomplished Italian chef whose restaurant is a front for criminal enterprise. Dutch is Angelo\u2019s oldest friend, as well as his employer \u2014 he gives Angelo the targets for his hits. The cast also includes Richard Harmon, Peter Gadiot and Daniel David Stewart. <\/p>\n

\n\tMemory of a Killer is produced by Warner Bros Television and Fox Entertainment. Executive producers include Dempsey, Zelman and Kessler. Arthur Sarkissian and Martin Campbell are also executive producers, along with Peter Bouckaert of Eyeworks.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn addition to Best Medicine, Memory of a Miller joins recently renewed Fox drama Doc and comedy Animal Control.
