Lesslie himself was rewriting an earlier script by Aaron Rabin and Zach Dean.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThunderbolts\u201d director Jake Schreier is directing the film and let slip the news during an interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/collider.com\/x-men-reboot-script-update-jake-schreier-new-writers-beef-lee-sung-jin-the-bear-joanna-calo\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Collider<\/a> while out promoting the second season of \u201cBeef\u201d on Netflix, which he directed.<\/p>\n<p>Offering an update on where things stand on the X-Men project, he says:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re still developing. You know, one of the exciting things that\u2019s tying into Beef is that Sonny [Lee Sung Jin] and Joanna [Calo] both worked on this season. Obviously, I mean, Beef is Sonny\u2019s show, and Joanna worked on the season as well, and we worked together on Season 1 of Beef and on Thunderbolts*. They have come in and are working on a draft right now, which is really exciting to be able to put that group of people together again.<\/p>\n<p>When you go back and read X-Men [comics], there\u2019s ideology but also interpersonal drama, almost of a soap opera quality. Having writers who understand both how to drive ideology from personal stakes, if we get that right, that\u2019s what will feel most honest to what X-Men can be.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>No cast has been announced yet, but rumours have all suggested Marvel is going young with the actors being sought in their teens and twenties.
