\n\tA coalition of filmmakers are uniting to \u201cchampion the future of cinema worldwide.\u201d <\/p>\n
\n\tCinema United<\/a> confirmed today the formation of a Filmmaker Leadership Council that will provide \u201cmeaningful support\u201d for theatrical exhibition. It will be led by blockbuster veteran Jerry Bruckheimer<\/a> and Oscar winning producer Emma Thomas<\/a> as chair and vice chair respectively. Rounding out the council will be Oscar winners Ryan Coogler<\/a> and Brad Bird, and Oscar nominees Jason Reitman and Celine Song. <\/p>\n \n\tPer the organization, the council will work with Cinema United to \u201cprovide vital feedback and recommendations on the most pressing issues facing theatrical exhibition today,\u201d such as consolidation, windows, promotion, marketing, innovation and technology. Cinema United senior consultant Greg Foster is credited with being instrumental in the council formation and he will serve as executive director. <\/p>\n \n\t\u201cMovies that captivate audiences and take their breath away \u2014 that\u2019s why so many of us got into this business in the first place.
