A new tentative release date for Slipknot<\/a> members’ long-awaited album\u00a0Look Outside Your Window\u00a0has been revealed online.<\/p>\n

We already know that a limited number of copies of the album will be available on vinyl <\/a>for Record Store Day<\/a> later this month, but until now, it was unclear whether there were any plans for\u00a0it to be released on a wider scale.<\/p>\n

When Will ‘Look\u00a0Outside Your Window’ Come Out?<\/p>\n

A Slipknot fan on Reddit<\/a> shared a link to the album on Record Store Day’s online market<\/a> that shows a release date for Friday, June 12 at 8AM. Only two formats are displayed, vinyl and CD, so it’s still not confirmed whether the release will also be distributed to digital and streaming services.<\/p>\n

The listing also has a “Go Live” date of May 19, which is a Tuesday. Perhaps that’ll be the day pre-orders for the album become available, so we may know more information then.<\/p>\n

In the meantime, 2300 copies of\u00a0Look\u00a0Outside Your Window\u00a0will be available on vinyl on Record Store Day, which is April 18. The release is self-titled, so they are not sharing it as an actual Slipknot record.<\/p>\n

Shawn “Clown” Crahan<\/a>, Corey Taylor,<\/a> Jim Root<\/a> and Sid Wilson<\/a> worked on the material that would become\u00a0Look Outside Your Window\u00a0while Slipknot were in the studio recording\u00a0All Hope Is Gone\u00a0in the late 2000s.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe truth is: while we were making that album, Jim and I\u2009\u2014\u2009who were the only two out of all nine original members who came to the studio\u2009\u2014\u2009were there every day, from the beginning to the end,” Clown told Kerrang!<\/a> of the recording process.<\/p>\n

“And then Corey and Sid became a part of it, and all four of us became a part of it\u2009\u2014\u2009it wasn\u2019t just any one person\u2019s. It became\u00a0ours. And because of that, we played it for a lot of people and we said, \u2018What do you think?\u2019 And these people would always say, \u2018It\u2019s not Slipknot.\u2019”<\/p>\n

The music is more experimental and has more of a rock sound, according to Taylor, who compared the material to Radiohead<\/a>.<\/p>\n
