Jeremy Clarkson<\/a> will return for season five<\/a> as early as next month, and recently said he\u2019d only make the now-confirmed sixth season<\/a> if \u201cthere was a good story\u201d to focus on. <\/p>\n Looking ahead, producer Andy Wilman, Clarkson\u2019s long-time collaborator, has confirmed that the Prime Video<\/a> series has a finite life and will only continue as long as Clarkson wants it to.<\/p>\n The show\u2019s deal with the streaming platform<\/a> is done on a \u201crolling basis\u201d, meaning the team is only contractually obliged to complete the season they\u2019re currently filming, which will ensure the show goes out on a high.<\/p>\n \u201cYou can\u2019t have that thing where you have done one series too many and people say, \u2018That\u2019s bollocks now, it\u2019s a busted flush,\u2019 Wilman told Extraordinary Life Stories<\/a> podcast. So you have to discipline yourself to say, \u2018We end this now while we still have an audience.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Wilman said that \u201cevery series we have is a bonus\u201d, adding: \u201cIf Jeremy can\u2019t think of anything to do or say, then that would be the end of it \u2013 it hasn\u2019t happened yet, but that\u2019s the agreement he has with Amazon.\u201d<\/p>\n He continued: \u201cThis is our third big show \u2013 Top Gear kind of got ended for us, I can\u2019t say that was a plan.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Grand Tour<\/a>, we brought that to an end, we planned that \u2013 we thought we have to land the plane while we\u2019re still in the air and dignified and we\u2019ve still got an audience.\u201d<\/p>\n Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond\u2019s on-screen relationship came to an end <\/a>with the final episode of The Grand Tour<\/a> in September 2024. They joined the series after leaving Top Gear in 2015.<\/p>\n However, The Grand Tour will return with new hosts<\/a>, YouTubers Thomas Holland and James Engelsman, best known for their motoring content, as well as social media star and train enthusiast Francis Bourgeois.<\/p>\n Wilman said of all the shows he\u2019s worked on with Clarkson, it\u2019s Clarkson\u2019s Farm that\u2019s \u201cthe most joyous thing to edit\u201d.<\/p>\n However, the new season will feature its most heartbreaking scenes yet, with episodes expected to focus on the outbreak of bovine tuberculosis<\/a>, which struck the Cotswolds farm in October 2025.<\/p>\n Bovine TB (bTB) is a chronic respiratory disease caused by a bacterium called Mycobacterium bovis. The disease can be catastrophic for farmers and forces the culling of infected cattle. Due to a bTB incident in England between October 2021 and September 2022<\/a>, 22,934 cows were killed.<\/p>\n This outbreak of bTB was a huge setback in 2025 and saw Clarkson\u2019s Diddly Squat farm face a year of climate-driven disasters.
