After seven years together, it looks like Finneas finally popped the question to his longtime girlfriend, Claudia Sulewski. Known to normies as Billie Eilish’s brother and to people who like indie music as the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter FINNEAS, the 28-year-old announced on Instagram in a joint post with Sulewski that the couple had gotten engaged. Matching Finneas’s general minimalist aesthetic, the caption read simply, “forever and ever 9.22,” accompanied by videos of the affianced dancing in the sunset, taking a helicopter ride, and flashing Sulewski’s new — and very large — rock.

Finneas, full name Finneas O’Connell, first met the actress and Cyklar skin-care founder on a dating app in 2018, a time when the apps were actually pretty decent at connecting like-minded singles as advertised. Sulewski quickly became O’Connell’s muse: He told BuzzFeed in 2019 that he wrote the song “Claudia” hours after he first met his now fiancé. Later, in 2022, she starred in and directed the music video for his song “Mona Lisa, Mona Lisa.”

The couple bought their first house together in 2019 and already share a rescue pit bull named Peaches, so it sounds like the wedding will serve as an official celebration of an already serious commitment. I’ve got my eyes peeled to see if they book Eilish for the reception. Maybe she’ll go B2B with Peaches at the afters.

Stay in touch.

Get the Cut newsletter delivered daily

Vox Media, LLC Terms and Privacy Notice
