\n Munich\/Milan. Presenting A Garden of Curiosity \u2013 an
\n immersive installation cocreated by MINI and Paul Smith for the Salone
\n del Mobile. Set in the historic Palazzo Borromeo d\u2019Adda in Milan, A
\n Garden of Curiosity adds yet another highlight to the rich history the
\n collaborators already share. Connected by their British heritage and
\n iconic designs, the two design houses come together to celebrate
\n optimism, curiosity and innovative spirit. The installation combines
\n Paul Smith\u2019s signature use of colour with the eye for detail for which
\n MINI is renowned and invites visitors to explore and enjoy the playful
\n world of design.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n Visitors immerse themselves in colour and sound: an experience
\n for all the senses <\/p>\n
Set amid the enchanted garden of the Palazzo Borromeo d\u2019Adda, the
\n installation is accessed via a wooden footbridge that takes visitors
\n across the courtyard and through a red door. The door represents a
\n symbolic invitation to look and see. On the other side is the green
\n space created by MINI and Paul Smith. It consists of pathways that are
\n lined with plants and grasses and lead to open platforms and cubic
\n installations. The iconic Paul Smith Signature Stripe runs discreetly
\n through the garden as a recurring design element. Architecture,
\n textures, colour and sound converge to create sensory experiences.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
\n Interactive theme rooms <\/p>\n
The Colour Theory Room acts as a visual intersection between Paul
\n Smith\u2019s signature colour palette and the colours of the new MINI Paul
\n Smith Edition. Visitors can arrange colour samples on an interactive
\n wall, the overall picture changing constantly throughout the day with
\n each new personal design. In keeping with the philosophy of Sir Paul,
\n the wall also gives visitors the opportunity to experiment with colour
\n combinations. \u00a0<\/p>\n
The Listening Room builds on this experience with Sir Paul\u2019s voice
\n recordings, highlighting the importance of colour theory. Another open
\n platform invites visitors to experience the space with all their
\n senses, allowing them to consciously enjoy a moment away from the
\n hustle and bustle of Milan.<\/p>\n
Adding the joy of discovery to the installation, the new MINI Cooper
\n Convertible Paul Smith Edition is waiting to be found and invites
\n visitors to take a closer look. Its appearance and details not only
\n reflect Paul Smith\u2019s distinctive style, but also capture the brand\u2019s
\n playful, optimistic and independent spirit. This exclusive highlight
\n of the installation merges into the charming overall scene.<\/p>\n

\n Heritage meets curiosity <\/p>\n
Walking through the courtyard to the installation, visitors are
\n immersed in the history of MINI and Paul Smith. Here, they can explore
\n three cars from the collaboration between the two companies, which
\n stretches back to 1998: the Paul Smith 40th Anniversary Mini, the MINI
\n STRIP by Paul Smith and another MINI Cooper from the latest Edition.
\n The specially created colour Nottingham Green adds stylish accents to
\n the Edition\u2019s mirror caps, octagonal radiator grille and wheel hub
\n covers with Paul Smith lettering. A selection of others details also
\n reflect the distinctive style of Paul Smith and ensure this MINI
\n Edition captures the essence of \u2018classic with a twist\u2019.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Paul Smith 40th Anniversary Mini: A one-off car from 1999, whose
\n bodywork morphed into a living work of art with 86 stripes in 26
\n colours. The interior also contained surprising use of colour (e.g.
\n the lime green glove compartment) and highlighted Paul Smith\u2019s playful style.<\/p>\n
The MINI STRIP by Paul Smith: Another one-of-a-kind creation, the
\n MINI STRIP of 2021 \u2013 based on the MINI Cooper\u00a0 \u2013 was reduced to the
\n essentials, as per the principle of \u2018less is more\u2019. The minimalist
\n design put the focus on construction and function, with the aim of
\n showcasing a new-at-the-time, responsible approach to design.<\/p>\n
A Garden of Curiosity will be open on 21 \u2013 26 April 2026 as part of
\n the Salone del Mobile in Milan. It can be visited in the House of MINI
