A royal source told Radar Online<\/a> that Prince Andrew was believed by Prince Philip to be \u201cdifferent\u201d than others. As per the source, he would rant about the former Duke of York. Moreover, he saw Andrew as a \u201cloose cannon\u201d and a huge \u201cthreat to the legacy of the crown.\u201d<\/p>\n Philip, who adhered to his duty with utmost determination and seriousness, allegedly felt that Andrew<\/a> was different from others. He apparently believed Andrew didn\u2019t give proper attention to his royal role and treated \u201ceverything like a joke.\u201d This is why he allegedly wanted to \u201cbanish\u201d him from the palace.<\/p>\n The source said, \u201cAndrew\u2019s problem is that he\u2019s gullible and easily led, which is how he finds himself in the wrong company.\u201d<\/p>\n While Philip warned the late monarch about Andrew, she wanted her son to be around during the holidays. She didn\u2019t take any strict action against Andrew until after Philip\u2019s death in April 2021. In January 2022, Andrew\u2019s honorary roles and military affiliations were removed by order of the late monarch.<\/p>\n Later, in 2025, he was stripped of his titles and asked to leave Royal Lodge. This was done after he and his former wife, Sarah Ferguson<\/a>, became surrounded by various controversies. The statement read, \u201cTHE KING has been pleased by Letters Patent under the Great Seal of the Realm dated 3 November 2025 to declare that Andrew Mountbatten Windsor shall no longer be entitled to hold and enjoy the style, title or attribute of \u2018Royal Highness\u2019 and the titular dignity of \u2018Prince.’\u201d<\/p>\n Andrew was later arrested on suspicion of misconduct in office; however, he was released afterward.
