The monumental, site-specific installation \u201cEarth \/ Tree\u201d harnesses this fleeting condition through a suspended canopy of wooden slats.<\/p>\n<p>Curved with a central opening, the diaphonous structure floats above a brick platform and a pile of rubble. These two organic materials bridge Nordic and Japanese cultures, which both value craftsmanship and continuity with the landscape.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/kuma-12.jpg\" class=\"swipebox\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-472690\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2000\" Kuma\" class=\"wp-image-472697\"  \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thisiscolossal.com\/tags\/kengo-kuma\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kuma<\/a>\u2014who was recently awarded <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2026\/04\/08\/kengo-kuma-national-gallery-wing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">the bid to design<\/a> the new National Gallery in London\u2014often focuses on \u201csoft architecture,\u201d a mode of working entwined with the environment and people who engage with the space. \u201cEarth \/ Tree\u201d translates this concept into
