Hezbollah launched over thirty rockets into Israel since Friday morning into the afternoon, according to the IDF.<\/p>\n

The Israeli military also said a non-commissioned reserves officer was severely wounded, and another soldier was lightly wounded, as a result of shrapnel from a Hezbollah suicide drone which fell near Israeli forces in southern Lebanon.<\/p>\n

Hezbollah rocket fire directly hit a house in Kibbutz Misgav Am, as well as a school in Deir al-Asad. In Safed, extensive damage was caused to vehicles after a rocket directly hit a parking lot in the city. In Nahariya, property was extensively damaged.<\/p>\n

On Friday evening, a fire broke out in Kiryat Shmona after it was hit by Hezbollah fire from Lebanon. Police said a second impact landed in an open space in the city. The impacts occurred with no prior warning siren.<\/p>\n

The Magen David Adom rescue service said no casualties were reported following the hits. <\/p>\n

Amid the several launches, the IDF Home Front Command said shelter-in-place orders would not be modified until Saturday at 8 P.M.<\/p>\n

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Thursday<\/a> that he has ordered the opening of direct negotiations with Lebanon, with the talks focusing on disarming Hezbollah and the “normalization of peaceful relations between Israel and Lebanon.”<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the IDF continued to carry out strikes in Lebanon, despite Israel’s decision on Thursday to reduce military activity to align with the planned diplomatic efforts. The IDF said that since the start of its campaign in Lebanon targeting Hezbollah infrastructure, it had destroyed over 200 Hezbollah rocket launchers, and that it had killed over 250 artillery operators with the organization, including 15 commanders.<\/p>\n

Lebanon’s President Joseph Aoun said 13 state security personnel were killed in an Israeli strike \u200con \u200ca governmental building in the southern city of Nabatieh.<\/p>\n

In a statement, Aoun condemned \u2060continued Israeli attacks and said targeting \u200cstate \u2060institutions \u200cwould not deter Lebanon from defending \u2060its sovereignty. According to the country’s state news agency, the strikes marked the largest attack in the city since the start of the current war.<\/p>\n

Earlier Friday, Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem called on the Lebanese government to reject any situation where Israel agrees to a cease-fire but continues to carry out attacks in the country.<\/p>\n

The leader noted that the group will continue to fight “alongside the army and the people of Lebanon,” adding that Hezbollah is not deterred by Israeli threats.
