Widespread Starlink outages, like the ones we reported on in 2022 and 2023, have been rare, and this appears to be the first one in 2025.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">The outage began around 3:15PM ET or so, with users receiving error messages saying there is \u201cno healthy upstream.\u201d Starlink <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Starlink\/status\/1948474586699571518\" rel=\"nofollow\">posted a message on X<\/a> at 4:05PM ET: \u201cStarlink is currently in a network outage and we are actively implementing a solution. We appreciate your patience, we\u2019ll share an update once this issue is resolved.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">At 6:23PM ET, Starlink engineering VP Michael Nicolls followed that up with a message saying that after a 2.5-hour outage, the network has \u201cmostly recovered.\u201d \u201cThe outage was due to failure of key internal software services that operate the core network,\u201d writes Nicolls, without going into specific detail.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">According to <a href=\"https:\/\/kyivindependent.com\/global-starlink-outage-affects-ukrainian-soldiers-on-the-frontlines\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Kyiv Independent<\/a>, the outage affected Ukrainian troops who rely on Starlink terminals, citing <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/robert_magyar\/1205\" rel=\"nofollow\">a Telegram message from the military<\/a> saying Starlink is down across the entire front.
