However, apparently since at least December, Microsoft has accidentally been packaging and shipping its controllers without batteries. This is according to a post on X by <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/XboxSupport\/status\/2041733265929732557\" target=\"_blank\">@XboxSupport<\/a>, which acknowledges the error and advises users how to proceed. This applies both to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.techpowerup.com\/review\/microsoft-xbox-wireless-controller-2020\/3.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Xbox Wireless controllers<\/a> and Xbox Design Lab controllers. <\/p>\n<p>Microsoft says that affected users should reach out to support via a <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/support.xbox.com\/en-US\/help\/hardware-network\/controller\/get-batteries\" target=\"_blank\">dedicated support page<\/a> and register a service request, at which time Microsoft will send out a pack of rechargeable batteries and a USB-C cable to correct the issue and perhaps serve as something of an apology.
