K-pop powerhouse HYBE\u2019s first Latin boy band Santos Bravos landed in Korea \u2014 the birthplace of a production system that helped shape them into the artists they are today.

\u201cWe\u2019re the first Latin pop group coming from HYBE \u2014 that\u2019s a lot of weight to carry,\u201d member Gabi admitted with a laugh during a press conference held at HYBE\u2019s headquarters in central Seoul on Friday.

\u201cBut we\u2019re trying for this group to be not only be known in Latin America but all over the world,\u201d he continued. \u201cWe think Korea is a market that is very important to us, because it\u2019s where HYBE was born.\u201d

Formed through the audition program
\n \u201cSantos Bravos\u201d (2025) <\/a>and managed by HYBE Latin America, Santos Bravos debuted in October last year with single \u201c0%.\u201d The five-member act consists of Drew, a Mexican American, Alejandro from Peru, Gabi from Puerto Rico, Kau\u00ea from Brazil and Kenneth from Mexico.

Friday\u2019s press event marked Santos Bravos\u2019 first official visit to Korea, where the group is set to promote its first EP, \u201cDual,\u201d released in March. The members will appear on Korean television and radio programs, including weekly music shows.

\u201cDual\u201d features six songs: the lead tracks \u201cMHM\u201d and \u201cVelocidade,\u201d along with \u201c0%,\u201d \u201cWow,\u201d \u201cKawasaki\u201d and \u201cFE.\u201d

\u201c\u2019Dual\u2019 is a very special project to us not only because it\u2019s our first EP, but also because it presents our music and art to the world,\u201d said Kau\u00ea. \u201cIt shows how versatile we can be as artists.\u201d

Leader Drew said that the rookies \u2014 now six months into their careers \u2014 are eager to learn from K-pop acts during their stay in Seoul.

\u201cWe\u2019re so excited to be here as it is our first time in Korea, and most definitely that comes with learning from our big brothers,
\nsunbaenims,\u201d said Drew, using the Korean word meaning seniors.

\u201cWe cannot wait to be doing challenges [with them], as we were so inspired by many groups \u2014 Cortis, obviously BTS, Le Sserafim and many more.\u201d \u00a0

As Santos Bravos serves as a key project for HYBE\u2019s \u201cmulti-home, multi-genre\u201d initiative, aiming to expand the K-pop production model into other markets, the members said that the rigorous artist training system that defines K-pop played a key role in shaping them.

\u201cThe artist development training program that we went through was very tough, but it pushed us mentally in the best possible way,\u201d said Drew, noting that the K-pop methodology of the trainee system helped them build their perseverance and a sense of teamwork.

Positioned at the intersection of Latin American culture and the K-pop production system, the group said it hopes to become a strong representation of its own culture \u2014 much like Bad Bunny.

\u201cHe, without a doubt, is an inspiration for all of us,\u201d Gabi said of the Puerto Rican superstar, referring him as \u201crepresenting Latin music in ways that are so difficult to reach.\u201d

Expressing that he loved the Puerto Rican singer\u2019s recent performance at Super Bowl halftime show in February, Gabi said, \u201cWe\u2019re working very hard to hopefully do a little of the impact that he has done in Latin America.\u201d <\/p>\n
