Get ready, DJ Rotom<\/a> \u2014 Pok\u00e9mon is throwing an EDM party. <\/p>\n

The Pok\u00e9mon Co. announced Monday that it has tapped artists Marshmello<\/a> and Alison Wonderland for a pair of electronic music concerts in Los Angeles and London. \u201cPok\u00e9mon Night Out\u201d will feature custom sets and visuals themed to the popular<\/a> multimedia franchise and its signature Pocket Monsters. <\/p>\n

The two shows, for fans 16 and older, are part of the company\u2019s celebration of Pok\u00e9mon\u2019s<\/a> 30th anniversary. The first installments of the video game series, \u201cPok\u00e9mon Red\u201d and \u201cPok\u00e9mon Green,\u201d were released for the Game Boy in Japan in 1996. (The U.S. versions, titled \u201cPok\u00e9mon Red\u201d and \u201cBlue,\u201d<\/a> were released in 1998.) Since then, the characters Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Squirtle and Charmander have become household names. <\/p>\n

\u201c[W]ith immersive experiences like \u2018Pok\u00e9mon Night Out,\u2019 we\u2019re leveraging the power of music to unite Trainers across our global fan community,\u201d Taito Okiura, the Pok\u00e9mon Co. International\u2019s vice president of marketing and media, said in a statement. \u201cBoth Marshmello and Alison Wonderland share a genuine passion for Pok\u00e9mon that extends beyond the stage, making this collaboration a natural celebration of the fandom.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m a huge Pok\u00e9mon fan so I am FREAKING OUT,\u201d Wonderland said in an Instagram<\/a> post featuring a slideshow of her with a plethora of Pok\u00e9mon plushies. \u201cDreams come true.\u201d <\/p>\n

The producer and DJ added that she will have \u201chave special Pok\u00e9mon visuals and song edits just for these shows.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cI grew up with Pok\u00e9mon,\u201d Marshmello said in a video<\/a> posted to the Pok\u00e9mon YouTube channel. The artist shared that his favorite Pok\u00e9mon is Mewtwo<\/a>, the genetically engineered clone of the mythical Pok\u00e9mon Mew. <\/p>\n

\u201cCharizard and Pikachu, they\u2019re kind of bubbly and kind of lighthearted,\u201d he said while shuffling through Pok\u00e9mon cards<\/a> and other themed paraphernalia. \u201cI just remember Mewtwo being a little bit more ominous.\u201d <\/p>\n

The L.A. edition of \u201cPok\u00e9mon Night Out\u201d will be held at the Intuit Dome on Oct. 24. The London show, at the O2 arena, will follow Nov. 10. <\/p>\n
