{"id":390934,"date":"2026-04-14T04:18:09","date_gmt":"2026-04-14T04:18:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/390934\/"},"modified":"2026-04-14T04:18:09","modified_gmt":"2026-04-14T04:18:09","slug":"kidderminster-man-takes-mental-health-petition-to-downing-street","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/390934\/","title":{"rendered":"Kidderminster man takes mental health petition to Downing Street"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">A father has walked more than 100 miles to deliver a petition to Downing Street in memory of his son and to call for better funding for children&#8217;s mental health services. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Rob Collins initially set out from son Mitch&#8217;s memorial bench in Wolverley, Worcestershire, on 28 March but was set back by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/articles\/c05d1plzee5o\" class=\"ssrcss-1e0jzsh-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">a knee injury<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">But he didn&#8217;t give up, and with wife Lisa and eldest son Drew continuing the route, Collins helped complete the final stretch at the weekend. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The petition calling for Mitch&#8217;s Law, which was started in 2020, has garnered more than 13,770 signatures.
