\n\tMilly Alcock<\/a> and Jason Momoa<\/a> are looking to fetch a big response to their forthcoming movie Supergirl<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe two stars joined DC Studios<\/a> co-head Peter Safran onstage at CinemaCon<\/a> for Warner Bros.<\/a>\u2018 presentation. The studio releases director Craig Gillespie\u2019s film June 26. Alcock stars as Kara Zor-El, and her character, who is the cousin to Superman, was introduced during a brief appearance in last summer\u2019s David Corenswet<\/a>-led Superman when she dropped in to pick up her rambunctious dog Krypto.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe trio debuted an extended sequence showing Kara on a voyage packed with nefarious characters when tech pirates interrupt their ride. \u201cThey want the bus. They want the fuel. They want the engine,\u201d she says. \u201cMy guess is they want to rob us all blind first.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tAfter some intense fight scenes, Kara attempts to don a space suit but is pulled outside the vehicle before she can. She is shown floating listlessly through space until her superpowers finally kick in. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cShe\u2019s flying towards the sun,\u201d one character exclaims. <\/p>\n

\n\tAlcock told the crowd, \u201cThis journey\u2019s been incredibly transformative for me, not only personally but professionally.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tMomoa said of playing Lobo, \u201cThis is a dream come true. This is the comic I collected.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tGiven that Momoa previously played fellow DC Comics standout Aquaman, Safran asked Momoa what would happen if the two characters were to face off.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019ll be honest,\u201d the star replied. \u201cI think they\u2019d take one look at each other and have a few hundred beers and be like, \u2018I like this guy.’\u201d He joked that they would want James Gunn<\/a> to make a movie about the pair, and Safran joked that this movie would be hitting theaters in 2031.<\/p>\n

\n\tGillespie was also on the stage and praised the title hero as \u201ccomplex and flawed and complicated.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAdditionally, Safran revealed about the sequel to Superman: \u201cCameras roll next week on Man of Tomorrow.\u201c<\/p>\n

\n\tGillespie (Cruella) helmed Supergirl from a script by Ana Nogueira. Gunn and Peter Safran serve as producers. Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz and Emily Beecham round out the cast. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe filmmaker previously discussed the movie at a press event<\/a> late last year. \u201cThis is really an anti-hero story,\u201d Gillespie said at the time. \u201cShe\u2019s got a lot of demons, a lot of baggage coming into this, which is very different from where Superman is in his life.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tCinemaCon is the annual event for exhibitors and Hollywood studios that runs this year from April 13-16.
