\n\tFinally, at long last, the Avengers are assembling again!<\/p>\n
\n\tThis much-anticipated reunion of Earth\u2019s Mightiest heroes can\u2019t come soon enough. It\u2019s been six difficult years for movie theater owners since their last heroic team-up in 2019\u2019s \u201cAvengers: Endgame.\u201d <\/p>\n
\n\tTo the thrill of exhibitors from Seattle to Key West, Disney unveiled the first full-length trailer for \u201cAvengers: Doomsday<\/a>\u201d at CinemaCon<\/a> as part of the studio\u2019s presentation to theater owners. Until now, Marvel has only offered four brief teasers focusing on Captain America, Thor, the X-Men and Fantastic Four all answering the ultimate call to battle.<\/p>\n \n\tThe trailer starts with a look at Downey Jr.\u2019s green-hooded, metal-faced Doctor Doom as he prepares to invade the multiverse. There\u2019s a shot of Professor Xavier looking out his X-Mansion\u2019s window as a bright flash of light is outside, signaling trouble. It\u2019s a flood of crossovers from there: Gambit and Shang-Chi battle; Mystique transforms into Yelena Belova, resulting in a Florence Pugh vs. Florence Pugh fight; and Thor and Doom face off, but Doom catches Thor\u2019s magical hammer Mjolnir with his bare hands.<\/p>\n \n\tThe biggest moment comes when Chris Evans\u2019 Steve Rogers makes his triumphant return and reunites with Thor. The Asgardian is shocked at his Avengers teammate\u2019s arrival given that Cap had gone back in time to grow old with his sweetheart Peggy Carter in \u201cEndgame.\u201d It\u2019s still unclear how Cap is back, but he\u2019s clearly still worthy enough to pick up Thor\u2019s hammer, just like he did during the Thanos battle in \u201cEndgame.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tSimilar to how \u201cInfinity War\u201d and \u201cEndgame\u201d brought together the Guardians of the Galaxy, Wakandans and Avengers, \u201cDoomsday\u201d intermixes Earth\u2019s Mightiest Heroes with the X-Men, Fantastic Four and Thunderbolts. After the Fantastic Four\u2019s ship crossed into the MCU in the post-credits scene of \u201cThunderbolts,\u201d we finally see Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch and Thing meeting the so-called New Avengers (consisting of Bucky Barnes, Yelena Belova, Sentry, Ghost, Red Guardian and U.S. Agent). There\u2019s also a tense showdown between Black Panther\u2019s Wakandan forces and Namor\u2019s underwater Talokans after the two armies clashed in \u201cWakanda Forever.\u201d <\/p>\n \n\tAll the heroes (and several former villains) must put aside their differences and join forces to take down Doctor Doom. Downey Jr., who narrates some of the trailer in a vaguely Eastern European accent, took the stage with Evans to play the trailer twice for the packed auditorium.<\/p>\n
