FAIRFAX, Va. \u00a0—\u00a0George Mason women’s lacrosse hosts Rhode Island University in Fairfax, Va. on Saturday, April 18 at 12 p.m for a conference battle on Senior Day.

\nThis is the second match up between the Patriots and the Rams. Rhode Island leads the series 1-0. In their last meeting in April 2025, the Rams defeated the Patriots 15-8.<\/p>\n

The women’s lacrosse program will be honoring their graduating class on Saturday. #1 Maddie Charland<\/a>, #2 Kaitlyn Bestick<\/a>, #3 Brynn Belmont<\/a>, #6 Hailey Zutic<\/a>, #9 Gabby Rizzio<\/a>, #14 Emily Mowbray<\/a>, #16 Kate Anders<\/a>, #19 Riley Ellis<\/a>, #20 Regan Bestick<\/a>, #26\u00a0Maddie Holloway<\/a>, and #27 Peyton Farley<\/a>\u00a0will be celebrated in a pregame ceremony.<\/p>\n

Charland played 21 matches over her four seasons as a Patriot.<\/p>\n

Kaitlyn Bestick<\/a>\u00a0recorded 68 goals, 18 assists, 82 ground balls and 105 draw controls in her four years at George Mason.<\/p>\n

Belmont played in 40 matches, recording two goals, six assists, and 16 ground balls over her four-year career as a Patriot.<\/p>\n

Zutic played in 55 matches and started 43 games while recording 32 ground balls and 16 caused turnovers\u00a0in her time as a Patriot over the last four years.<\/p>\n

Rizzio recorded 40 ground balls and 21 caused turnovers over her four years with George Mason.<\/p>\n

Mowbray, a transfer, played in eleven matches and tallied eight goals and two assists in her one year as a Patriot.<\/p>\n

Anders has recorded 101 goals, 27 assists, 71 ground balls, 86 draw controls, and 23 caused turnovers over her four years.<\/p>\n

Ellis has tallied 47 assists, 33 ground balls, twelve goals, and twelve caused turnovers in her time with George Mason.<\/p>\n

Goalkeeper Regan Bestick<\/a> has recorded 284 saves in 36 matches in her three years as a Patriot.<\/p>\n

Holloway played in eleven matches in her four seasons with the Patriots making seven saves.<\/p>\n

Farley recorded 37 goals, 20 ground balls, and 19 assists in her four years with the Patriots.

Following their inaugural 2025 NCAA Division I season, key returning players for the University of Rhode Island women’s lacrosse team include goalie Casey Phelps, a defensive leader with 12 saves in the season opener, and attacker Caralie Basuel, who led the team with 11 goals in the first week.
