The Indian women\u2019s badminton team for the Uber Cup 2026 has been forced into a late change with Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand<\/a> withdrawing from the tournament due to an injury to Treesa.<\/p>\n

At world No. 30, Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand are the top-ranked Indian women\u2019s doubles team and the duo\u2019s absence will be a considerable blow to the country\u2019s chances at the upcoming tournament.<\/p>\n

Badminton Association of India (BAI) confirmed Treesa-Gayatri\u2019s withdrawal on Friday and named Shruti Mishra-Priya Konjengbam as replacements.<\/p>\n

The Indian badminton players<\/a> were last seen in action in March at the Swiss Open BWF Super 300 tournament. The duo had to pull out of their opening round match midway after Treesa suffered an injury.<\/p>\n

They also skipped the Badminton Asia Championship earlier this month.<\/p>\n

Shruti Mishra-Priya Konjengbam are currently 48th in the badminton rankings<\/a> and will join Kavipriya Selvam-Simran Singhi and Tanisha Crasto as the doubles options in India\u2019s Uber Cup 2026 squad.<\/p>\n

Two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu<\/a> will lead India\u2019s singles unit at the 2026 Uber Cup, which will be held in Horsens, Denmark, from April 24 to May 3 alongside the men\u2019s Thomas Cup.<\/p>\n

The Uber Cup is the world team championship for women\u2019s badminton<\/a>. Held every two years, it features national teams competing in a tie format featuring both singles and doubles matches<\/p>\n

India have been drawn in tricky Group A for the Uber Cup 2026 alongside defending champions the People\u2019s Republic of China, hosts Denmark and Ukraine.<\/p>\n
