A war of words has broken out between Roger Waters<\/a> and David Draiman<\/a>, as the Pink Floyd icon has responded to the Disturbed<\/a> singer by calling him an \u201cobnoxious little prick,\u201d among other unpleasant names.<\/p>\n

Draiman, who is pro-Israel and Jewish, has long criticized Waters\u2019 pro-Palestine positions, which include calling for a boycott of Israel. As reported earlier this week, the Disturbed frontman reiterated his feelings about Waters<\/a> during an appearance on Billy Corgan\u2019s The Magnificent Others podcast.<\/p>\n

\u201cHere\u2019s the thing, Billy,\u201d said Draiman on the podcast, \u201cI grew up on Pink Floyd. I loved Pink Floyd. It was such a massive betrayal, not just to me, but Jews everywhere when he went in the direction that he did\u2026 Roger has a penchant for dictators \u2014 the worst [people] on planet earth, Roger just cozies right up to them. He has no problem whatsoever.\u201d<\/p>\n

Waters caught wind of Draiman\u2019s conversation with Corgan, as well a past photo showing Draiman signing Israel Defense Forces artillery shells during a visit to an IDF base and writing \u201cFuck Hamas\u201d on them. The Pink Floyd legend posted that photo and responded via X\/Twitter in the form of a letter to Corgan:<\/p>\n

How are you? It\u2019s been too long. @davidmdraiman Someone forwarded me this chap\u2019s appearance on your podcast. I\u2019d never heard of him. Anyway, it turns out he has heard of me. It seems he has a problem with me standing up for human rights, particularly the human rights of my brothers and sisters in Gaza who are being slaughtered in a genocide by the armed forces of the Nazi racist, pariah state of Israel. You, being the lovely fella you are gave this little piece of shit a chance to clarify or even modify his position. He did. He is a psychotic racist Nazi pig.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m told, Billy, he writes messages on bombs before the IDF drops them on civilians in Gaza. Enough said. I will continue to work with all my brothers and sisters all over the world in the movement to demand equal human rights for all human beings, irrespective of their religion or ethnicity or nationality. If you, my friend are wondering if I want a conversation with this obnoxious little prick? The answer is non merci Billy, life\u2019s too short, he can inhabit his tiny corner of hell without the benefit of my love and truth.<\/p>\n

It didn\u2019t take long for Draiman to respond to Waters, as he retorted, \u201cAnd here I was open to dialogue, even with someone I so deeply disagree with. Honestly @rogerwaters, this is the reaction I unfortunately expected. It\u2019s disappointing, but predictable. Be brave Roger. Blessed are the peacemakers, right? I\u2019m always willing to try. We must all continue to try. Even with you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Draiman was asked by Corgan on the podcast whether he\u2019d be willing to break bread with Waters to discuss their differences, \u201cAbsolutely. You close off and that\u2019s the end of anything,\u201d but added, \u201cI\u2019d have to punch him first.\u201d<\/p>\n

Outside of his feud with Draiman, Waters recently launched an open audition<\/a> to find a singer to front his son Harry Waters\u2019 band for a Pink Floyd tribute tour in 2027.<\/p>\n

Disturbed, meanwhile, are taking a break from touring this year, but are set to perform two shows this summer: one at the Inkcarceraton Festival<\/a> in Mansfield, Ohio, on July 17th, and another at Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida, on July 25th (pick up tickets here)<\/a>.<\/p>\n
