{"id":397559,"date":"2026-04-17T20:26:11","date_gmt":"2026-04-17T20:26:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/397559\/"},"modified":"2026-04-17T20:26:11","modified_gmt":"2026-04-17T20:26:11","slug":"over-430000-entries-later-sony-world-photography-awards-2026-crowns-its-winners","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/397559\/","title":{"rendered":"Over 430,000 entries later: Sony World Photography Awards 2026 crowns its winners"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The prestigious<a href=\"https:\/\/www.euronews.com\/culture\/2026\/03\/19\/students-today-masters-tomorrow-sony-world-photography-awards-celebrate-young-talent-acros\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> Sony World Photography Awards<\/a> have unveiled their 2026 winners, whittling down more than 430,000 submissions from over 200 countries and territories.<\/p>\n<p>          <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"c-ad__placeholder__logo\" src=\"https:\/\/static.euronews.com\/website\/images\/logos\/logo-euronews-stacked-outlined-72x72-grey-9.svg\" width=\"72\" height=\"72\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\"\/><br \/>\n          ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>          <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"c-ad__placeholder__logo\" src=\"https:\/\/static.euronews.com\/website\/images\/logos\/logo-euronews-stacked-outlined-72x72-grey-9.svg\" width=\"72\" height=\"72\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\"\/><br \/>\n          ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s top honour &#8211; Photographer of the Year &#8211; was awarded to Citlali Fabi\u00e1n for her deeply moving series Bilha, Stories of my Sisters, a project exploring identity, community and Indigenous women\u2019s experiences in Oaxaca, Mexico. <\/p>\n<p>Fabi\u00e1n, who is from the Yalalteca Indigenous community and currently based in London, uses a blend of portraiture and digital illustration to highlight the achievements and lived experiences of women across multiple fields &#8211; from law to ecology. <\/p>\n<p>Reacting to the win, she said: &#8220;It is a massive honour to receive this award for Bilha, Stories of My Sisters, a series that is deeply connected to my heart and my people. I hope this recognition will help to spread the voice not only about my work, but also about the amazing efforts and work of the women in this project.
