This is not the rollout Zayn Malik<\/a> wanted for Konnakol. Malik posted an Instagram Story of himself in a hospital gown, offering apologies for not being able make record store appearances this weekend. \u201cThank you to all of you for your love & support now & always \u2014 been a long week and am still unexpectedly recovering,\u201d he wrote. \u201cHeartbroken that I can\u2019t see you all this week.\u201d Malik did not disclose why he was in the hospital, but he did specifically thank the hospital\u2019s cardiologist in his message.<\/p>\n

The story came the same day Malik\u2019s fifth studio album, Konnakol, came out. Earlier this week, the singer postponed a fan event at London\u2019s Circuit, Kingston. \u201cI\u2019m really sorry but unfortunately I am sick and I won\u2019t be able to make it to the UK this week as planned,\u201d he said at the time, per Rolling Stone<\/a>.\u00a0Konnakol his first album in three years, since 2024\u2019s Room Under the Stairs. The album is named after the art of rhythmic syllables in South Indian Carnatic music.<\/p>\n
