It looks like\u00a0The Batman Part II<\/a>\u00a0has added another star to its stacked cast. And spoiler, it\u2019s someone from another major franchise.<\/p>\n

Per Deadline<\/a>, Charles Dance has signed on for the DC film. Best known for playing Tywin Lannister in Game of Thrones,\u00a0Dance is reportedly set to portray Harvey Dent\u2019s father, Charles. (Boy, hope that doesn\u2019t get confusing.) Earlier this year, we learned Harvey would be played by Sebastian Stan<\/a> and Scarlett Johansson is his wife Gilda<\/a>. Finding a man to play Papa Dent hasn\u2019t been as easy, with big stars like Daniel Craig and Stellan Skarsg\u00e5rd<\/a> said to have turned down offers.<\/p>\n

Maybe that\u2019s fitting, given how it\u2019s been an odyssey for The Batman Part II to even begin to get made. Between the Hollywood strikes, Reeves\u2019 general silence and the Penguin\u2019s TV show<\/a>, concerns swirled that the sequel had been quietly canceled. (Things had apparently gotten so bad that James Gunn had to ask people online to get off Reeves\u2019 back<\/a>.) Production is said to begin later this spring<\/a>, so we\u2019ll learn more about the movie through set photos in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n

The Batman Part II\u00a0is currently expected to land in theaters on October 1, 2027.<\/p>\n
