Though he wouldn’t cross the finish line until it was technically Saturday morning, Fanucchi became just the second collegian in state history to break the sub-14 barrier in the event. He annihilated the previous school record by more than 13 seconds to win his heat in 13:47.01, a time that currently sits second in the conference.

And that was just the start of the school records out in California.

Jadyn Keeler down another one of her own historic times with a new personal-best clocking of 4:19.41 in the women’s invite 1500-meter run. She was joined in the same section by Olivia Correale, who ran a 4:20.94 for a new PR and the second-best time in school history, and Katie Rogers, who clocked a 4:28.07 in her event debut to rank eighth in school history.

And then Fanucchi did it again. He collected yet another history-making performance with his 3:39.14 time in the men’s invite 1500-meter, finishing third out of over 150 athletes. The clocking tops the conference so far this season and breaks into the top-five of the NCAA West Qualifying List.

Two new top-10 times came in the women’s Open B section of the 1500-meter as Frida Giersdorff took third overall in 4:28.46 (PR, ninth all-time) and Marie-Louise Jorgensen finished 13th in 4:30.31 (PR, tenth all-time).

TOM TELLEZ ALUMNI INVITATIONAL
Though weather resulted in event location adjustments and cancellations down in Houston, the Fighting Hawks still found success on both ends of competition.

A school record also fell down in Texas, but this time in a field event. Her previous best of 40-0 1/2 (12.20m) was annihilated by her new PR of 40-11 1/2 (12.48m) that gave her a first-place finish and the best mark in the conference so far this season.

Ava Phrakonkham made her 100-meter dash finals appearance and ran a time of 12.15 to finish seventh overall while in the 100-meter hurdles finals, Marta Marksa hit the podium with her third-place finish after clocking a 13.93.
