Israeli forces fatally shot<\/a> a young man in the town of Jabalia in the northern Gaza Strip<\/a> on Sunday morning.<\/p>\n Medical sources said troops opened fire on Khalil Nasr while he was at the Halawwa camp, which houses displaced people. He was later pronounced dead after sustaining a fatal head wound.<\/p>\n Israel\u2019s continued violations of the ceasefire<\/a>\u00a0have killed at least 757 people and injured more than 2,100\u00a0 since the truce came into effect on 10 October.<\/p>\n Early on Sunday, Israeli military helicopters were reported operating in eastern Khan Younis, opening fire on areas in the southern Gaza Strip.<\/p>\n Palestinian media also reported that Israeli forces, which maintain control of roughly half of the besieged territory, opened fire from positions east of the enclave towards Gaza City late on Saturday night. No injuries were reported.<\/p>\n The latest incidents come after the Israeli army said it had “eliminated” two individuals it alleged had approached the so-called “Yellow Line” in two separate incidents<\/a> in northern and southern Gaza on Saturday.\u00a0<\/p>\n Diplomatic efforts to revive political process<\/p>\n Meanwhile, regional officials have held diplomatic discussions in Turkey regarding the future of Gaza and a political solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.<\/p>\n On the sidelines of the fifth Antalya Diplomacy Forum on Saturday, Faid Mustafa, the Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League, told The New Arab that Brussels would host an international meeting on the Palestinian issue on Monday.<\/p>\n Around 60 countries and international organisations are expected to attend, he added, noting that “there are now serious efforts to once again reactivate the Palestinian political track, and this issue is receiving significant international attention”.<\/p>\n Mustafa pointed to the ceasefire between the United States and Iran<\/a> as a factor behind the renewed momentum, with officials now looking to “implement the roadmap plan drafted by the Peace Council and adopted by a UN Security Council resolution”.<\/p>\n
