Lil Wayne<\/a> is has opened up about not being invited to Coachella<\/a> or the Grammy Awards<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The rap icon took to X yesterday (April 18) to vent about being \u201cuninvited\u201d and \u201cuninvolved\u201d in major music events \u2013 specifically the Californian festival that is going on this weekend<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s truly a humbling experience when events like Coachella & the Grammys come around & like clockwork,I\u2019m uninvited & uninvolved,\u201d he wrote. \u201cI appreciate my position or space I hold in ya heart & mind if so bc you\u2019re the humbling experience that\u2019s timeless & 4dat I thk u. The post struck a chord with Limp Bizkit<\/a>\u2018s Fred Durst, who quickly came to Wayne\u2019s support. \u201cLet\u2019s start our own experience gathering and our own acknowledgment event to welcome all of the uninvited,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n

It comes after last year, when Wayne said he would never play a Super Bowl Halftime Show after claiming they \u201cfucked up\u201d by not inviting him to play it<\/a>\u00a0in his hometown of New Orleans this year and choosing\u00a0Kendrick Lamar<\/a>\u00a0instead.<\/p>\n

He claimed that, upon being snubbed in favour of Lamar, the NFL apologised to him as the league \u201cain\u2019t in charge\u201d of the Halftime Show: \u201cAll of a sudden, according to them, they got curved. So, I\u2019m going to have to just settle with whatever they say.\u201d<\/p>\n

As a result, the rapper said that\u00a0he didn\u2019t watch Kendrick Lamar\u2019s performance, saying: \u201cEvery time I looked, it was nothing that made me want to go inside and see what was going on.\u201d He also added that after the debacle, he would never play a Halftime Show if offered the chance:\u00a0\u201cThey stole that feeling. I don\u2019t want to do it. It was perfect.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lamar would go on to reference the snub when he\u00a0surprise-dropped his new album, \u2018GNX\u2019<\/a>\u00a0in November last year:\u00a0\u201cUsed to bump Tha Carter III, I held my Rollie chain proud \/ Irony, I think my hard work let Lil Wayne down\u201d.<\/p>\n

Wayne took to social media<\/a>\u00a0to respond to the namecheck, writing: \u201cMan wtf I do?! I just be chillin & dey still kome 4 my head. Let\u2019s not take kindness for weakness. Let this giant sleep. I beg u all. No one really wants destruction, not even me but I shall destroy if disturbed. On me. Love.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, Wayne eventually said\u00a0he and Lamar made up over a phone call<\/a>, adding: \u201cI\u2019ve spoken to him, and I wish him all the best and I told him he better kill it. He gotta kill it.\u201d<\/p>\n
