Justin Bieber has been dressing like he\u2019s got something to prove<\/a> lately. Not in a try-hard way, but in that locked-in, \u201cthis just makes sense to me\u201d kinda way. And on the second weekend of Coachella, he pulled up in a fit that looked like it was swiped straight from the early-00s hip-hop playbook. Think MTV TRL-era, peak mixtape circuit, slightly baggy everything.<\/p>\n

At the center of it all was a sleeveless hoodie with big, linebacker-y shoulder pads. It was designed by LA-based artist Greg Ross, who has a reputation for almost bodybuilder-coded shapes, taking everyday staples and pushing them into something a little more more sculptural. On the Canadian pop star, it hit that sweet spot: strong, a bit aggressive, but still casual enough to throw on without overthinking it.<\/p>\n

Beyond the hoodie swap, Bieber\u2019s fit wasn\u2019t terribly different from what he sported the weekend prior<\/a>. On his feet, he once again rocked Loewe\u2019s Bobby Bag desert boots. Released as part of the label\u2019s latest collection, the curved cutouts (inspired by the handles of the house’s actual Bobby bag) make them easy to pull on and off, while the calf suede upper and stamped anagram logos keep things nice and clean. There\u2019s a beefy lug sole too, so they\u2019re actually built for stomping, not just standing around looking good. Bieber\u2019s been on a Loewe wave for a minute now\u2014last year, he couldn’t stop wearing the label\u2019s Lago fur boots<\/a> and Terra Vulca skate sneakers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Unlike those pairs, though, the Bobby Bag boots lean a bit more left-field\u2014which tracks, considering new creative directors Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez<\/a> have been pushing Loewe into slightly weirder territory. It\u2019s less about obvious wearability, more about shape and detail\u2014pieces that feel a bit off at first, then suddenly make complete sense once you see \u2019em on.<\/p>\n

The rest of the look\u2014beanie, jorts<\/a>, shades\u2014all hailed from Bieber\u2019s own label, Skylrk, which is built around loose fits, offbeat proportions, and a slightly worn-in feel. Nothing too polished, nothing too styled, just easy pieces that look sick without much effort.<\/p>\n

Put together, Bieber\u2019s look taps straight into that 2002 music video energy: oversized, confident, and chaotic. And while it\u2019s not a vibe that all guys can pull off, it\u2019s easy to appreciate how fun it is.<\/p>\n
