Crescent Pharma Limited\u202fis recalling one batch of Ramipril\u00a010mg\u00a0capsules as a precautionary measure\u202fdue to a potential\u202fmanufacturing error\u00a0which may mean some cartons\u00a0contain\u00a0blister strips of a lower dose, specifically Ramipril 5mg.\u00a0<\/p>\n
This follows a complaint from\u00a0a patient where it was\u00a0identified\u00a0that, inside a sealed carton of Ramipril 10mg capsules, one blister pack of Ramipril 5mg capsules was found. Both product batches were manufactured at the same manufacturing site, and the error appears to have occurred during secondary packaging of the cartons.\u00a0\u202f\u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n
The risk\u202fto patients\u202fof\u202ftaking the lower dose of this medicine\u202ffor a limited time is very low.<\/p>\n
Dr Alison Cave,\u00a0MHRA Chief Safety Officer, said:\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cIf you take\u202fRamipril\u00a010mg,\u202fcheck the packaging for batch number GR174091.\u202fThe batch number and expiry date information can be found on\u202fthe\u202fouter\u202fcarton.\u202fIf you\u202fhave received this batch,\u202fcheck that the\u202fmedication\u202fname on the carton matches the blister strips inside.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf the\u00a010 mg\u00a0carton\u202fof Ramipril\u00a0contains\u202fblister strips that are labelled as Ramipril 5mg capsules,\u00a0contact your\u202fdispensing pharmacy. If the carton contains blister strips that are correctly labelled as Ramipril 10mg capsules, you do not need to take further action.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
