Lana Del Rey<\/a> may have surprised the world with her wedding<\/a> to Jeremy Dufrene in September 2024. But bridal designer Macye Wysner, founder of the Los Angeles-based brand Cinq<\/a>, missed the big news she was privy to quite some time earlier\u2014and entirely by accident. \u201cLana had DMed us a few months prior to us actually meeting in person,\u201d Macye tells Vogue. \u201cShe had tried DMing us and even calling us on Instagram, and we never saw her message. It was so funny, because it was a few months later that she then again tried to reach back out to us. Her stylist, Molly [Dickson], emailed us and was like, \u2018Are you guys the hottest club to get into? Like, we really can\u2019t contact you!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

At first, Del Rey visited the Cinq studio for her friend Val\u2019s appointment, not her own. But after Val tried on a dress she didn\u2019t end up picking\u2014the River gown<\/a>\u2014it became the basis of Del Rey\u2019s own custom dress. \u201cA fun little piece of it is that we were sitting at lunch with bridal stylist Hope Levine, and she randomly looked at me and went, \u2018You\u2019re gonna make Lana Del Rey’s wedding dress one day,\u2019\u201d Macye remembers. \u201cOf course, I was like, \u2018Shut up, Hope.\u2019 Like our delusional friend Hope is so positive. And on our way home from that lunch, Lana called.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cShe was just like, \u2018I love that dress. I felt like it was my dress from the moment that I saw it,\u2019\u201d Macye continues. \u201cI\u2019m actually getting married in a few months, and it just feels so serendipitous that I came in here with my friend.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Of course, Del Rey wanted to make sure the dress felt absolutely true to herself. So she met with the designers to collaborate on what, exactly, her dream wedding dress would be. \u201cWe kind of just spent our time together sitting on the floor until 4 a.m. in the showroom,\u201d Madelyn Wysner, Macye\u2019s sister and Cinq COO, shares. \u201cWe decided to add lace to the skirt and she wanted these pickups with little bows to really put her spin on it. It was very Victorian. We wanted to make that read through the design more.
